Autumn has arrived
This week has most definitely seen the arrival of more autumnal weather, meaning we all appreciate our break time hot soup and toast even more. We have continued to encourage students to get fresh air and stretch their legs at all opportunities despite the wind and rain.
SET Beccles Mini Marathon
This is highlighted by the PE team and our students who have shown impressive resilience and determination this week completing the SET Beccles mini marathon.
Mock Interviews For Year 10 & 11
I would like to acknowledge and thank our many guests on Thursday who came into school to support our Year 10 and Year 11 students. In the afternoon we hosted mock interviews for Year 11 students. Students met with external professionals to talk through their career and further training and education plans. Our guests thoroughly enjoyed meeting our young people and commented favourably on their confidence and maturity. Students found the mock interviews challenging yet supportive and an opportunity for reflection.
Following the mock interviews we hosted an evening careers fair, where 10 local further education providers held conversations with our Year 10 and Year 11 students. Information was provided around apprenticeships, vocational courses, A Levels and voluntary opportunities. Again, we received such positive feedback on the way our young people conducted themselves, taking ownership of their futures, asking relevant and probing questions, seeking guidance and further information. This is the launch of post-16 planning for our Year 11 students, we are very excited and privileged to be part of this journey for them all.
Open Afternoon For Year 6 Students
Wednesday saw another group of Year 6 students join us for a Drama transition event. Miss Goode had a wonderful afternoon working with these young people on a Harry Potter inspired activity.
Have a good week.
